Review of "The Dark Knight Rises" by Cam Dauer

The movie chosen for this edition's movie review is "The Dark Knight Rises", which was released on July 20th, 2012. This is the third and final movie in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, and the sequel to "The Dark Knight". Popular actors you might recognize include Christian Bale, Michael Cane, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, and Morgan Freeman. During this movie's initial midnight showing, you might remember the terrible shooting that took place in Aurora, Colorado. The Dark Knight Rises has brought in over one billion dollars so far, and made its way into the top 10 highest grossing films of all time. That's impressive. The movie has a different change in plot from the previous; Batman has vanished for some years, and turned from a hero to a wanted fugitive of Gotham City. This started from being blamed for the death of Harvey Dent, as he worked with chief police commissioner Gordon. Crime had been stopped, and at an all-time low with the anti-crime acts Gotham City had put into place..until Bane's arrival. Will Bruce Wayne be able to take on the old role as Batman? Will he be any match for Bane and his hostile terrorist mafia? What will happen to Gotham City? Movies in a series don't always top the previous, and I feel this one didn't quite do it. I feel it is pretty difficult to top Heath Ledger's part as the "Joker". I do feel this movie was very awesome in many respects, and totally worth the nearly 3 hours run time it takes to watch it. The Dark Knight Rises has the power and cinematics you want to see from a great film, and a twisting conclusion. Some parts were slightly confusing, and difficult to comprehend, but it all works and smoothly falls into place. It is a trilogy, so you need to have previously watched the movies leading up to it. Overall, I would give this movie a 4 of 5 rating, and would surely watch it again.
