Speech Team by Linda Liang

The speech season is rolling right now and it’s going very well. In order to know more about the MVL speech team I got the chance to interview the team captain Brianna.

The Charger: How often do you have a meet or practice?
Brianna: The meets are practically every Saturday and I have practiced once a week.

C: What do you normally do in a practice?
B: I practice my speeches with my coach, Mrs. Sponholz, and we discuss how I can improve them.

C: What are the common processes of a meet?
B: The meets are divided into 3 rounds, with a few breaks in between and then come to a final round.

C: What was your work in speech team mainly about right now?
B: I am double entered this year. I am analyzing a speech by Winston Churchill and also interpreting tow poems.

C: What is your favorite aspect of the speech team?
B: My favorite part is when we eat lunch together and discuss how we did in the rounds.

C: Which part of the team encourages you the most?
B: It would have to be my team mates; everyone is always so helpful and encouraging.
C: How is the team doing
in the competition right now?
B: So far we have had only one meet at Loyola.

C: How did the meet go on Saturday in Loyola?
B: We did really good and four people finalled.
