Christmas Concert by Karissa Schlottman and Taylor Bode

Part of a regular MVL tradition is to put on a fantastic Christmas Concert. It represents our strong faith and thanksgiving of our Savior’s birth. Every year, hundreds of people come to watch the students of MVL use their God given talents to express the true feeling of Christmas. The theme for this year’s concert is “God’s Son, Our Savior”. During the concert, MVL’s A Cappella Choir sings a selection of songs, they also combine with the freshmen choir to sing mass numbers. Alongside the choir, the band also plays their own unique selection of songs as well as the Chargaliers will perform a few of their own songs. An important part that goes into putting on this concert every year is the Christmas banner. The Art Club works very hard to create a unique and wonderful banner to display Christmas spirit. This concert is very special to the whole MVL family, because it gives the students a chance to prove their love of their Savior, show what they know about the birth of Jesus, and spread the great news to everyone in attendance. It doesn’t just stop with the people that are in attendance, it goes far beyond that. The concert is also recorded and live streamed on New Ulm’s KNUJ 860 AM radio station beginning at 6:45 p.m.!So even if you aren’t able to physically make it to this wonderful concert, make sure to tune in and listen! This concert is put on with the help of the MVL faculty and student body. One of the main faculty members that helps out is Mr. Ziesemer, he puts in a lot of hard work and time to make sure that everything goes smoothly. He makes sure that people really understand the meaning behind the music.  This concert takes place on December 20th, at 7 p.m.! What a great way to kick off your Christmas vacation!
