MVL's Newest Power Couple?

During your Sophomore year in World History, Mr. Nehls will teach you about the Roman Republic. Before the Roman emperor's reign, there were two Consuls in charge. Much like Rome, MVL features two students who have less power then they claim to have (Shh! Don't tell them!).  Here below, we have a couple introductory remarks made by the lamest students in this building. We hope you enjoy!

Shalom! L’Chaim! My name is Christian (Chip) Hennig and I will be the editor of our school newspaper, The Charger, for the 2017-18 school year! Since I’m a big senior guy, I often forget there are still freshmen in the building who have no idea what Desktop Publishing is, let alone what we do. Desktop is MVL’s only student publication source. We run three main publications, which are: The MVL Charger Blog, The MVL Charger Newspaper, and the MVL Flashback Yearbook. Often, the first impression of Desktop is, “Wow! Making blog posts, videos, and writing articles sure looks confusing.” I agree, we do accomplish some complicated things. However, none of us actually know what we are doing. Desktop is all about finding what you enjoy doing and turning it into media content. Skill sets Desktop could use include, but are not limited to; scheduling, communicating, photographing, recording, writing, proofreading, photoshop(ing), marketing, researching, and most importantly, teamwork. I believe anyone can contribute to Desktop and that’s why I encourage you to join next year or even next semester. Desktop is available to all Juniors and Seniors. I think we have a great group this year and I hope you all enjoy our future content. Peace out Girl Scout!

Maisha mazuri marafiki zangu! I am Isaiah (Zay) Koepsell, and I am your Student Body President for this year. Now for the good Lutheran question-what does this mean? I am going to be honest with you guys, I am still learning the answer to that question. I have been on Student Council for all my years at MVL, but the first couple weeks as President have made me realize that I still don’t know a whole lot about what makes MVL and its Student Council run. Although I am still learning, we have a great year planned out. This is because I have a great group of very creative people helping me this year, for which I am eternally grateful. For it is said that you are only as good as the company you keep. I am really excited by the work ethic of our Student Council this year. I am also really excited for the end of October, when our Student Council will be completed with the addition of three freshman. I would encourage any freshman that is even slightly interested in Student Council to run in October. Even if you are not interested, you should still run, because “Stud Co” as we like to call it is an extremely fun and great opportunity for all. If you have any questions for me or the Student Council, you can drop them off in the Desktop Publishing Locker. Toodle-loo, Kangaroo!
