Luke:
So once upon a time in Russia, there was a man and his wife in their Castle in Russia. The wife goes to war or something, cause it's Russia, but tells her husband not to go upstairs. The moment she left, he was like, dang, I gotta get up there! So he goes upstairs, and there's a dude up there who is, like, I don’t know, a thousand, the old guy asks Ivan for a cup of water. The guy's like "hey, this dude just wanted a glass of water," so he gives the guy a glass of water. The old guy drinks the water, laughs, and turns into a huge monster, and says "You fool! Now I'm going to kill your wife" and he just jumps out the window and turns into the west wind or something crazy. The old guy had a crazy name, I think it started with an “O”, oh yeah, Koschei. Finally, after some chasing Ivan catches up to the monster, Koschei. The monster wins the altercation and proceeds to cut up Ivan and put him in a barrel and throw him in a river. This part is where the Eagle, Wizard, Raven Wizard, and Hawk Wizard, who he met on his way to fight the monster the first time, come in and save Ivan and put him back together. (Take that Humpty Dumpty, lol) Now Ivan needs to regroup to kill Koschei the deathless.
This is where the Horse Thief story begins. He's not fast enough to chase after the monster, so he has to get a horse from a guy called Baba-Yaga who's like, "you can have any of my horses, but only if you can catch the one you pick. Otherwise, I get to kill you and put your skull on a pike like the seven others." So Ivan is like "sure," and he races after a horse, and tricks it somehow, and the Baba-Yaga is like, "Hey, you cheated, I'm gonna kill you anyway!"and then the Eagle, Raven, and Hawk Wizards come in and are like "No, you can't kill him." So the guy rides his horse out to his wife and beats the monster, and that's the legend of the Horse Thief. Also known as Ivan and Koschei the Deathless.

Mr J: In Russia.

Luke: Yeah.
