The 2018 WELS Regional Choralfest was hosted here at MVL this past weekend. Many hands make for light work, and that’s exactly what happened. A big thank you goes out to the students who helped clean, NHS, parents, faculty and staff, the chargaliers, and, or course, Mr. Hermanson. Their hard work made this wonderful experience possible. Thank you to all who attended the concerts. To God be the Glory!

On Friday, each individual choir participated in the Choralfest pops concert by performing a song from secular pop culture. The Chargaliers opened this concert with Free Ride, and later closed the concert with the song MLK.

After a weekend of practicing, all of the high school choirs joined together to sing songs at the Choralfest Sacred Concert, on Sunday afternoon.

In order to direct hundreds of singers, clinicians, Jodie R. and John Z. volunteered their skills and time to lead the Choralfest students in songs of praise.

During the day on Friday, students rehearsed music for the sacred concert for the first time.

During the greatly attended Pops concert, Dr. Plath introduced each choir's performance.

The Chargelier's opening number, Free Ride, was accompanied with dancing, choreographed by Sarah Bloedel.
Their closing number presented a more somber approach, as Chargelier members stood still in formation while singing MLK, and were lit with blue lights.

For the Sunday Sacred concert, students were divided into two choirs, the Laudate choir- which included the Chargeliers- and the Jubilate choir.

Leah Wendland, Riley Marth, and Zachary Scharlemann were some of the many MVL alumni who served as instrumental accompanists on Sunday. Riley served as the rehearsal pianist for the Laudate Choir, while MVL's Mrs. Berg  played piano for the Jubilate Choir.
